Why we don't stock blended fabrics
Baumwolle mit Polyester hält kürzer, als man denkt — und lässt sich nicht recyceln.
A T-shirt made of 60 % cotton and 40 % polyester feels good in the shop: it creases less and dries faster. After twenty washes you see the difference anyway — the cotton abrades, the polyester stays and forms pills. To this day the blend cannot be recycled, because the two fibres would have to be separated chemically. That is why every textile of ours carries the full composition, and we stock blends only where they are technically necessary: in sports towels and in the striped long sleeve, which needs 5 % elastane to keep its shape.
